Why become a member of CRT?

Members of CRT are constantly building both their first aid and team work skills. We have a fun, open team atmosphere that is focused on delivering great first aid service to the UW community.  As a member, you will have the opportunity to attend all the team's training sessions and social events, and you will provide first aid coverage at various campus events as a member of a shift team.


Certifications
  • Valid Standard First Aid - Current within 3 (three) years
  • CPR Health Care Provider, to be re-certified yearly
  • All certifications must be from one of the following agencies: Canadian Red Cross, Lifesaving Society, St. John's Ambulance, or Canadian Ski Patrol.
Time Commitment
  • Weekly meetings, Training Weekend, and Casualty Simulation
  • Approximately 12 hours of shift coverage (minimum shift requirements vary from term to term)
Soft Skills
  • Ability to strive in fast-paced and stressful situations
  • Patience
  • Teamwork and leadership skills
